TEHRAN Since a number of the supports of the historic bridge "Pol-e Khaju" located in Isfahan Province, Iran, have been damaged, the bridge is expected to collapse in the near future, a local weekly quoted the archaeologists as saying.
Touching on the recent collapse of another historic bridge, "Marnan" in Isfahan, the weekly Jahan-Nama added that the fact that Zayandeh Roud (Zayandeh River) ran dry in the current year has provided proper conditions for officials to take appropriate measures to save the historic bridge of Khaju.
Pol-e Khaju, constructed on Zayandeh Roud in Isfahan, is a famous historic monument dating back to the Safavid period.
